You’ve taken a great step. Your website is built on the WordPress platform, so that means that you have control over your website content. You can make changes to the text whenever necessary. But every time you log in to your site, that little yellow box at the top of the dashboard is there to greet you with:

In reality, because the security of a WordPress website is dependent on upgrades, it is very important that you upgrade whenever a new version of WordPress comes out.

WordPress developers take security very seriously, but as with any other system, there are potential security issues that may arise and there are always trade offs when balancing security and convenience. Keep up to date with the latest WP version: The WordPress developers do not maintain security patches for older WordPress versions. Once a new version has been released or the vulnerability has been fixed then the information required to exploit the vulnerability is almost certainly in the public domain making any old versions more open to attack…
Between January 2010 and January 2012 there were 18 versions (updates) of WordPress1. It can be overwhelming to keep up with it all!

Nola Cooper Designs has created a worry-free solution to your WordPress upgrade woes! Our WordPress Website Upgrade Plan takes the stress out of maintaining your website, keeping your site operational, safe and secure.
Every Plan Includes*:
- An initial WordPress theme files backup is created, filed in our system, and emailed to you (.zip file)
- Regular upgrades to the latest stable version of WordPress within one week of the version release (as needed).
- Monthly plugin checks – with any necessary plugin upgrades completed as discovered.
- Regularly scheduled database backups via email (daily or weekly).
- Testing to confirm your website’s functionality after any upgrades are completed.
- Email notification of your upgrade completion.
The basic plan includes one (1) WordPress website. There’s an option to purchase an expanded plan if you own more than one site. Keep in mind that if you are more than two (2) versions behind, your first upgrade needs to be done manually, therefore, there is an additional, one time charge of $20 per site.
